February 25, 2006 - South Africa consumed 44,200 tons of chocolate last year an increase of over 11% from the
year before. Chocolate consumption has increased by 40% since 1992 in China according to this
Asian Week
article. A hospital in Newburyport, Massachusetts has been promoting the consumption of chocolate.

February 21, 2006 - Hershey held a tour recently for reporters to show them the new updated Hershey's

February 19, 2006 - The second annual Oregon Chocolate Festival will be held the first weekend of March. Local
producers Moonstruck, Dagoba and Lillie Belle Farms will be exhibiting along with many other local chocolatiers.
Mars Incorporated is launching a line of chocolate American Heritage that will attempt to recreate the actual taste
and texture of chocolate produced during the colonial era. The chocolate will be on sale at Fort Ticonderoga,
Colonial Williamsburg, Mount Vernon, Monticello and The Smithsonian.

February 18, 2006 - Godiva chocolates were recently used to bribe Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria to
strip for a scene on the show. After
four years in business Lake Avenue Chocolate Shop in Lake Worth Florida is
closing down.  
ABC News reports on a contest being held in Vienna where chocolatiers are given 88 pounds of
chocolate and the them Mozart and his works to create edible works of art. Definitely worth taking a look at. The

jailed for 8 months for assaulting his wife after she placed his favorite chocolate sauce on top of instead of next to

time to head to Saks Fifth Avenue for a book signing chocolate tasting event. The price is $35 which includes the
opportunity  to meet Chloe Doutre - Roussel the author of The Chocolate Connoisseur , a copy of the book and a
chocolate tasting arranged by Charbonnel et Walker . By the way if you haven't has a chance yet to drop by the eight
floor of Saks and try some of the Charbonnel et Walker product you are missing something pretty special. We
visited earlier today, around 10:30 am and the young lady who served us couldn't have been nicer . We settled on
some pink champagne truffles and some pink hearts and were immensely pleased with both our purchase and
the exceptional customer service.
