July 12 2005- The Godiva website claims that they have the following two promotions going on
that may be of interest. July 14-17 Hand Dipped Glace strawberries and Macaroons hand dipped
daily. We're not sure if these strawberries are then free as the Godiva by us has been dipping for
quite awhile and it's never been a promotion, not free at all. Our local store wasn't able to answer
any questions about it but a call on your local store during those dates might provide some
answers. The next event is listed for July 21 - 23 and involves handing out Chocolixir samples in the
Godiva stores that carry the product. We would call before going so if you are interested in it and
have yet to sample it this may be your chance to do so.
July 7 2005- Ah summertime and all the cold food starts coming out. We've just been informed that
Pierre Marcolini is now serving five flavors of sorbet.
They are produced in Brussels and shipped right out. The five favors are Raspberry, Strawberry,
Grapefruit, Mango and Exotic which is a mix of Mango, Passionfruit and Strawberry. We have yet to
try any of these but if we had to venture a guess based on other product in the Marcolini line they
are probably pretty good. We'll update this as soon as a tasting expedition is organized.
July 5 2005 - Vosges has just started serving ice cream as they did last year. It's only 4 flavors
but all 4 flavors are exceptional in both quality and taste. The flavors are Naga (white chocolate with
sweet curry and coconut) , Wattleseed (white chocolate and wattleseed) , Pandan (dark chocolate
with a nutty, smoky flavor) and Red Fire (dark chocolate with chili and cinnamon).
