March 28, 2006 - Usually for me the taste and price of chocolate are what gets me going but I have to admit for
some reason I really like the look of
Cruisin' Easter Bunny from Lake Champlain Chocolates. I'm kind of hoping he
appears in my basket this year.
Hooray it looks like the Hershey tour will back up and running April 1st. The price
is unbeatable, free and the hours for April are  Sunday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Check for an
updated schedule if visiting after April. The saga of the New York Chocolate and Confections factory continues.
They have laid off their 50 hourly employees but are hoping to acquire new financing and rehire them. Coming up
real soon chocolate made with camels milk instead of cows milk is just around the corner. An interesting recipe

March 23, 2006 - Scharffen Berger has announced a limited run production of what sounds like a great 3 oz piece

March 19, 2006 - A little bit on the wedding cake business in the Philippines. With consumption of chocolate
increasing in China by 30% a year and 25% a year overall throughout Asia when will demand outstrip supply and
what will happen then?
In Milton Canada, someone broke into the local elementary school and made off with 450
containers of chocolate milk.  Three possible perpetrators were observed fleeing the scene of the crime.

has released a 100 count package of loose caramels with a chocolate center. SlimDelices the French firm has
released their products here in the USA. The product is a diet drink and it comes in a chocolate flavor. Lancaster
Pennsylvania
was the scene of a fire at the Miesse Candies Factory where the Easter Chocolate went up in
flames. The factory has been producing chocolate since 1955.
March 15, 2006 - New York Chocolate and Confections still has electricity but there gas has been cut off as they
await financing from the Ivory Coast. Hershey
has entered into an agreement to set up a revolving line of credit.

pay its employees even though it is suspending operations until its new financing is in place.

Korea and that is the day
Dagoba will be launching its "Dagoba Organic Chocolate Concept Bar" in South Korea.

March 11, 2006 - The New York Chocolate and Confections Company in Fulton New York is still hanging in and
depending on what you read is
either going to get $8,300,000 in new funding from the Ivory Coast or is going to
get or $22,000,000 in new funding from the same source. The ladies of the Gamma Theta chapter of Tri Kappa in
Crown Point , Indiana are hard at work producing Easter eggs to raise money for local scholarships in what is an
annual tradition that goes back 14 years.
March 10, 2006 - It's looking bad for The New York Chocolate and Confections Company in Fulton New York as it
seems the hoped for financing arrangements had fallen through.
In Mancheseter England lorry driver Kevin
Ormerod was sentenced to a year in jail for his part in faking the robbery of his truck and stealing 26 pallets of
Cadbury chocolate worth about $25,000 US.
March 09, 2006 - New York Chocolate and Confections Company in Fulton New York is still trying to put financing
in place to keep the doors open. The ambassador of the Ivory Coast is hoping to have the President of the Ivory
Coast to sign off on a new financing arrangement at any moment.
The Chocolate Café is opening it's first store in
Somerset West South Africa. The American Fudge Factory is behind the newest arrival on the chocolate scene in
South Africa. Master chef Bobby Flay
appeared on the Early Show on CBS and shared what appears to be an
awesome recipe for chocolate chip cookies.

March 07, 2006 - This is short notice but the 92nd Street Y is holding a chocolate tasting event , tomorrow
Wednesday March 8th, along with a panel that includes Joan Coukos of Chocolat Moderne, Kee Ling Tong of
Kee's and Martine Leventer of Martines. Their will also be dessert wines available to complement the chocolate.

behind on their electric bills and local taxes. They have agreed to pay to keep the electricity flowing by Tuesday with
an expected infusion of cash from the Ivory Coast. The factory located in Fulton, New York is a 103 year old former
Nestles plant.
